Description

Description (Service) Orangeville transitioned to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on October 1, 2020.
  • For police matters, call the OPP Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 (toll free in Ontario).
  • For non-emergency, such as filing a report or other non-urgent police matters, residents can call the OPP Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 (toll free in Ontario).
  • If residents are making complaints about traffic issues, the best option is to contact the OPP Communications Centre (1-888-310-1122) to file a report. The OPP creates occurrences for each complaint, which helps track areas of high complaints and co-ordinate effective enforcement.
  • To report a crime using the online reporting tool, residents can visit opp.ca/reporting. This can be used for lost/missing property, stolen licence plates or validation stickers, theft from a vehicle, mischief to a vehicle, other mischief (such as graffiti), theft or driving complaints where there are no suspects, no injuries and no evidence.
  • Residents requiring a criminal record check can make their request online by visiting the O.P.P. website Criminal Record Checks and Police Checks
  • Residents can call for information related to administrative issues (collision reports, incident reports, volunteer fingerprints, Freedom of Information requests) to the new telephone number 519-942-1711 and the call will be forwarded to the OPP's Dufferin Detachment where someone will assist them.
